An Application ID and Client Secret will be needed to succesfully configure a Microsoft Entra application.

  1. In the Business Central client, search for Microsoft Entra Applications and open the page.

Open page “Microsoft Entra Applications”

  1. Click New.

  2. In the opened screen, enter the Application (Client) ID to the Client ID field. This is the Azure AD application ID that you obtained at step 4 of the instructions above.

  3. Fill in the Description field. If this application is set up by a partner, please enter sufficient partner-identifying information, so that all applications set up by this partner can be tracked in the future.

  4. Set the State to Enabled.

  5. Assign at least one User Group to the user:

    1. Choose D365 FULL ACCESS to assign full access to the API user

    2. Or choose another User Group with limited persissions if Full Access is not required.

Create a new Microsoft Entra Application
  1. Click Grant Consent

  2. A sign-in Window will open. Sign in with an user account with sufficient permissions to grant consent.

At this stage you have all necessary information to set up the Dynamics 365 Business Central integration.
